  violent repression to crush resistance to the
  central government

  month of Robespierres reign

• The French artist Eduard Manet, was one of the
  early inspirations for the impressionist
  movement.
• His work helped to develop the styles of other
  well known French artists such as Claude Monet,
  Edgar Degas and, Pierre August Renoir.
