  • Science Binder WITH Journal
  • Writing Implements (Colors)
  • Calculator
  • Good News

Good Things
  • ARE
  • Positive things you do for others
  • Positive things someone does for you
  • Nice/Happy/Peaceful Observations
  • These sorts of things can NEVER be taken away.
    You always get to keep your happiness. )
  • ARE NOT
  • Anything you can buy with money
  • These things can be taken from you, break, burn
    up in a fire, or wash away in a flood. Then your
    happiness is gone. (

What NOT to Bring to Class
  • Backpacks
  • Purses
  • Gum,Candy, Foodstuffs
  • Cell phones, iPods, laser pointers, etc.
  • Fun little watchamacallits, thingamajigs, and
    doodads

Leaving Room
  • Wait for instruction to pack up your things. I
    dismiss you, not the bell
  • Stand up and push in your chair
  • Exit in a single file orderly manner

  • Students actively listening to instruction

  • Pencils, and hands are still if not taking notes

Questions Comments
  • Students will wait for the teacher to call on
    them before they ask their question or make their
    comment
  • Students will raise hand if they have a question

Pencil Sharpening
  • Students will not sharpen their pencils while the
    teacher or another speaker is addressing the
    class
  • Students may sharpen their pencils as needed
    during seat or group work
  • Student has three seconds of pencil sharpening
    time
  • Only one student at sharpener at a time

Restroom Hall Passes
  • Do not interrupt the class with a request to use
    the bathroom.
  • Your agenda book MUST be used and YOU need to
    fill in your destination and the time on the
    correct day.
  • You also must sign out on the blue sheet on the
    clip board
  • Leave the room quietly
  • Return quietly
  • Sign back in

Turning in Work
  • Students will turn in work the day it is due
  • Ms. McCarron will indicate how she wishes to
    collect the assigned work
  • Students will refrain from talking during this
    time

Grading Papers in Class
  • Students will focus only on the paper they are
    grading
  • No straining to look at your own paper
  • Students will mark only /s on missed answers (no
    ?s)
  • Students will ask the teacher for clarification
  • Students will be honest in their grading practices

Late Work and Make-up Work
  • Make-up work can be found on the rack by the door
  • You have the number of days you were absent plus
    one to turn in your work
  • If you miss a lab, depending on the activity, you
    may have to make additional arrangements to
    complete the work or accept an alternative
    assignment
  • Late work will be accepted for a reduced grade
    once per quarter.
  • Rare emergency situations will be dealt with on a
    case by case basis - communication from parent or
    guardian is expected

Testing
  • Sit in assigned seat

  • Students will read silently when finished
  • Ms. McCarron will indicate how she wishes to
    collect the tests

Lab
  • Students will usually work in groups of 2
  • Groups will be assigned by Ms. McCarron
  • All Safety Rules will be followed
  • Anyone not following the Safety Procedures will
    be removed from the lab and given an alternative
    assignment and consequences

  • Students will move between desk and lab station
    in a quiet and orderly manner
