• Shorter posts ? Good ? Bad
• Start planning early
• Find out your strengths and weaknesses
• Focus on weaknesses
• Attend educational meetings
• Set goals for every post
• Book study leave as early as possible
• DO NOT waste any study grant !!!

• Meet your GP trainers early
• ENSURE you have medical indemnity cover eg MDU,
  MPS
• Be aware of nMRCGP
• Collect evidence of competencies eg

  references, appraisals, 360
• Get your VTR 2 signed after every post !!!

Life as GPR

• Different to anyother experience
• Try going to visit training practice
• Talk to trainer / practice manager if needing
  study or annual leave early
• Try to make the most of induction
• Lots of paperwork needed
• Start EARLY

• 6-8 weeks before starting
• Apply for performers list and CRB at PCT, Kent
  Primary care Agency, Maidstone
• FPGPR1 form- also called GPR payment form

• Download Summative assessment handbook from
  www.gpkss.ac.uk vocational training section
• Get VTR2 s signed from deanery
• Register with RCGP for associate membership and
  certification (350)
• Send VTR2 to RCGP
• Sign contract with training practice
• Ensure they have details for paying you !!!

Summative assessment

• Audit- start asap, send asap, keep it simple,
  follow marking schedule
• MCQs- easy, high pass rate, MRCGP MCQ pass valid
• Video- THINK, start early, Single route vs. SA
  only
• Trainers Report- look at competencies, might
  already have proof for some, keep doing as you go
