  • Care deep concerns for best interests of ZI
  • Loyalty embraces fairness, good faith,
    honesty
  • Obedience requires knowledge of mission and
    laws affecting the carrying out of the mission

Financial
  • Adequate and sustainable financial assets through
    membership dues
  • Manage funds/assets in a professional manner
  • Present balanced budgets with professional
    periodic reviews in a simple and transparent
    reporting system

  • Review, update, and develop internal and external
    materials, e.g.
  • Strategic Plans
  • Rules of Procedure / Policies

Credibility and Visibility
  • Credibility through achievements focused on ZIs
    objectives in service and advocacy
  • Visibility by issuing outcomes information and
    publishing achievements and outcomes in external
    media
  • Communication with media, local governments,
    community groups, supporters

Membership
  • A total net gain each year with effective
    recruitment of qualified members
  • Membership retention closing revolving door
  • Sponsoring new clubs in different areas and
    cities
  • Develop resources for club recruitment (OMC fund)
    and materials emphasizing the global mission of
    ZI

United Nations (UN)
  • Support UN programs and advocacy for the
    advancement of women and gender equality
  • Follow process and recommendation of the CEDAW
    (Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of
    Discrimination against Women) Committee to
    involve members in improving the status of women
    at the country level
  • Use materials from the ZI International UN
    Committee to strengthen members knowledge of
    current issues for advancing womens rights

Legislative Awareness and Advocacy
  • Engage actively in LAA activities to improve the
    status of women in our District/Countries
  • Two District LAA Committee chairmen one in US
    and one in Canada to disseminate information to
    clubs regarding each country or regional area
  • Develop resources to help clubs and members be
    effective advocates in their communities
  • Report successful outcomes to members
  • Emphasize advocacy through service projects the
    outcomes of which inform about the status of
    women

Service
  • Clubs to support the ZI International Service
    Projects through fundraising at the local level
  • Clubs to choose local service projects that are
    consistent with ZIs mission
  • Clubs to choose service projects that combine
    with and include legislative awareness and
    advocacy

Amelia Earhart Fellowships (AE)
  • Clubs to promote the Fellowships within our
    District
  • Clubs to fundraise to provide for the funds to
    sustain the Fellowships

Jane M. Klausman Scholarships
  • Clubs to promote these ZI scholarships (for
    undergraduates in business studies) within our
    District
  • Clubs to fundraise to provide for the funds to
    sustain the scholarships
  • The District to continue to offer its scholarship
    by appropriating funds for it each biennium

Young Women in Public Affairs Awards (YWPA)
  • Clubs to promote these ZI awards (at the
    International and District level) to young women
    in our District
  • Clubs to fundraise to provide for the funds to
    sustain the awards
  • Clubs to offer their own awards by fundraising

Zonta International Foundation
  • Encourage fundraising in every club (minimum of
    1/3 of local funds raised by clubs should be sent
    to ZIF)
  • Encourage every Zontian to make individual gifts
    to ZIF (tax deductible in US)
