  • EVERY 4 MINUTES A CHILD IS BECOMING BLIND

VISION IN CHILDREN
  • In the first 5 years,75 of learning in Children
    is from Vision
  • 89 of blindness starts in Children below age of
    5 years
  • 6 to 8 of school going children have Visual
    defects
  • 60 of blindness in children is preventable
  • 80 children do not have access to qualified eye
    care specialists

  • 40 of the Indian population is below 16 years of
    age
  • That means 1 in 1000 are children under 16 years
    of age

OUR GOAL SHOULD BE
  • Provide funding for surgery for at least 30
    children per year. This costs approximately 5000
    per year
  • Sponsor one out reach activity 2500
  • Support part of the non-Surgical eye care 250
  • Sponsors will be acknowledged at the site of
    activity and in Publications
  • Model that can be implemented at other places by
    local interested parties
  • You may pledge your support for the future
