The name
 
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Porticoa porch, passageway, or entrance to a
structure, supported by regularly spaced columns.
In ancient Rome people gathered around porticos
to discuss solutions to difficult
problems. Today at Porticos we have two pillars
upon which we have built our business experience
and innovation. Through innovation, and by
utilizing our experience and the latest
engineering tools, we provide answers to your
most difficult mechanical engineering problems.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

• Porticos is located in Research Triangle Park,
  North Carolina
• Our team includes 9 mechanical engineers, interns
  and technical support staff. In addition
  Porticos retains 2 engineers in Malaysia and
  maintains partnerships with local engineering
  consultants and analysts. Many of our engineers
  hold advanced degrees. We also have a registered
  professional engineer on staff.

Recent Projects Dell Ruggedized Laptop
PORTFOLIO

• Porticos was responsible for the complete
  hinge-up and hard drive mechanical design for
  the Dell Latitude ATG laptop.

Recent Projects Sensit Technologies Gas Sensor
PORTFOLIO

• Sensit Technologies developed a miniature
  electronic gas sensor that can detect dangerous
  concentrations of carbon dioxide. They wanted to
  productize this circuit as a rugged,
  waterproof, clip-on device that could be worn
  like a badge.
• Porticos started with the environmental and abuse
  requirements and a list of electronic components.

Recent Projects SEMC Cell Phone
PORTFOLIO

• Porticos co-developed the slider Walkman phone w/
  Sony Ericsson. Manufacturing volumes are 500K
  per week.

• Porticos optimized the size and function of a
  prototype accelerator target used to create
  radioactive dyes for PET scans. In addition we
  designed the fill station and developed the
  supply chain for the customer.

• Porticos supports all three major CAD packages so
  we can easily interface with your existing
  databases Unigraphics, Pro-Engineer and
  Solidworks.
• SIMULATION
• Porticos uses Cosmos FEA software to perform
  structural and thermal analysis.
• Porticos uses an internal tolerance analysis
  package to provide worst case and 6 Sigma gap
  analysis.
