    must consider the following aspects in order to
    perform at a higher level. Getting enough sleep
    enables you to remain alert in class therefore
    keeping you safe and avoiding injury. Food intake
    and keeping hydrated is very important. A correct
    balanced diet will provide important sources of
    energy (from carbohydrates) and will aid recovery
    of muscle tissue (from proteins). Consuming
    enough water will replace that lost during
    exercise and will enable physiological processes
    to work properly. A dancer should avoid all
    alcohol and substance abuse including cigarettes.
    They have a negative affect on performance and
    can reduce fitness levels and cardiovascular
    ability, they will also affect judgement which
    may cause injury to themselves or others. A
    dancer should participate in additional training
