  • Chartered by individuals in Silicon Valley, in
    1992 TiE has come to represent Talent, Ideas
    and Enterprise
  • 44 chapters in 9 countries including 19 in US,
    13 in India, 3 in Canada, 2 each in Pakistan,
    Australia and UK, 1 each in Malaysia, Dubai
    Singapore
  • Over 1400 CMs 10000 members world-wide
  • gt 500 events held world-wide with gt 70,000
    attendees
  • Over 135 Sponsors world-wide across all chapters
  • TiE Inc (TiE) incorporated in August 2002, is
    governed by a 15 member Board of Trustees (BOT)
  • Five committees setup, each chaired by a Trustee

  • BOT are elected by chapter presidents for a term
    of two years
  • Role of the TiE BOT is to
  • drive the organization strategically providing
    global vision and defining value proposition
  • provide framework guidelines within which
    chapters can operate while maintaining their
    individuality
  • manage and grow the chapter network
  • manage the TiE brand and set standards
  • Chapters are separate legal entities, managed
    independently by their President and Boards of
    Directors, operating within the TiE charter and

  • Objective is to provide ongoing value to all
    members and stakeholders by providing
    contemporary, expert knowledge
  • Conceived in June 2002, operational in October

  • Held about 60 workshops, covering both soft
    hard skills
  • Some workshops designed to be web-cast
  • Over 5000 people attended sessions
  • Sessions replicated and customized across
    numerous chapters in US, UK and India

TiE Foundation
  • TiE Foundation is being incorporated as a 501c(3)
    US statutory registration
  • Will fund projects that encourage global
    entrepreneurship and research on economic
    policies of different nations, with a major focus
    on South Asia
  • Will also conduct educational and charitable
    activities
  • Seek contributions from individuals and
    institutions and through proceeds collected at
    events
  • Independent Board to monitor operations of the
    Foundation with appropriate mechanism to ensure
    transparency and proper usage of funds raised
  • 20K contributed to International Red Cross,
    Pakistan for earthquake relief

TiE Tsunami fund raising
  • Donor advised Fund launched in collaboration with
    America India Foundation (AIF). AIF to match the
    funds raised by TiE
  • Approx. 175K raised
  • Deployment to be done in conjunction with AIF
  • Specific projects identified by AIF to be
    evaluated by the TiE Tsunami committee to ensure
    that it matches TiE goals of rehabilitation and
    livelihood creation
  • Maximum investment per project is 25 of funds
    collected by TiE and up to 50 of the project
    value Expect to fund 5-6 projects
