10One of the first things we do upon entering the
church is bless ourselves with holy water
11Remember to take a moment and think about what
this means We were baptized in the name of the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We are part
of Gods family.
12The Entrance Procession
When we enter the church building, we are part of
the entrance procession. The procession begins
when the first members of the assembly enter the
building and culminates with the formal
procession of ministers.

stand to joyfully greet the Word of God come
among us.

24During the formal procession, the entrance song
has a unifying effect. It helps to form us into a
community.
25The presider addresses us with, The Lord be with
you. This greeting reflects the truth of the
Lords presence in the gathered assembly.
26During the Act of Penitence, we acknowledge our
sinfulness and Gods mercy. This is followed by
the Gloria, a hymn of praise.
27Let us pray
The presider invites us to pray. We pause to open
our hearts to God as he reads the opening prayer,
and then we give a heartfelt Amen.
28- The Introductory Rites have formed us into a
worshiping community that acts as a united body
to prepare for the main parts of the Mass.
