ISO Mission

• To work with government authorities,
  representatives of industry, research institutes,
  universities and consumers, and other experts, to
  reach a consensus on worldwide standards in
  almost all realms of human endeavour, from
  aircraft and space vehicles to basic units of
  measurement and test methods.

What is TC 215?

• Technical Committee 215
• Develops healthcare informatics standards
• 24 member countries each with one vote
• American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is
  our member body
• ANSI appoints the Secretariat for TC 215 and
  accredits TAG procedures
• HIMSS is the Secretariat for TC 215

What is the U.S. TAG?

• U.S. Technical Advisory Group
• Each member country represented on the Technical
  Committee organizes a TAG
• The U.S. TAG develops U.S. positions and
  identifies the need for new work
• HIMSS is the U.S. TAG administrator
