Physical Education Sport

• Successful in reaching and surpassing the
  national target of 75 of pupils taking part in 2
  hours of physical activity a week.
• Further clubs on offer inc, Kickboxing, fencing,
  trampolining, Yoga
• Over 15 external coaches and almost 50 extra
  curricular clubs on offer.
• Regional, national success in a range of sports
  inc Basketball, Swimming, Athletics, Gymnastics,
  netball, Skiing and Fencing.

Languages

• Curriculum review has led to increased range of
  Languages Mandarin (3rd year at Yr 12
  increased group), Russian, Italian
• Excellent results at GCSE A-Level in French,
  Spanish and German
• Increased use of ICT within Languages including
  the development of new ICT Lab.
• New Staff within Faculty.
• Increased use of Foreign Language Assistants
• Cross curricular developments e.g. Spanish Tech

Work with Primary Partner schools

• Appointment of Primary Language Teacher (PLT) in
  languages Mrs Jo Coles.
• Dedicated time to develop Language teaching in
  Primary schools Commitment to 2010 target.
• Providing support and CPD for teachers in primary
  partner schools.
• Dedicated to organising relevant staff to
  support, train and assist in all three languages,
  French, Spanish German.
• Increased Number of schools supported.
• Work closely with Language leaders and staff to
  help with primary language provision.

Science partner subject

• Since re-designation Science as our partner
  subject has developed in the following areas
• Employment of 4 part time technicians
• Lab refurbishment
• Increased ICT provision
• Sustained A level uptake
• Development of new science courses - Now being
  taught at GCSE, Y7 and Y12
• Separate science option (Further science at GCSE)
  A good number of pupils sat further
  examinations July 2008 and current y11 will make
  the selection post mock exams
