2FUNCTIONS OF THE N.C.D.A
- To review and monitor the conditions in Jamaica
and regionally with respect to drugs which are
being abused or misused with harmful effects
which lead to numerous social problems. - Undertake measures to prevent this abuse and
misuse of drugs and with other stakeholders deal
with the resulting social problems. - Supply relevant information and advice on matters
concerning drug abuse and misuse.

trends and the current research relevant to our
demand reduction programs. - INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION - informs our
national public education programs and ensures
that messages are relevant and accurate. - LEGISLATIVE - looks at how the law affects the
drug abuser.
9- SECURITY- ensures that there is ongoing
collaboration between the national demand and
supply initiatives. - TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION - looks at the
current TR modalities and their suitabilities
for our national program. - ECONOMIC - looks at the possibility for
especially recovering addicts to find meaningful
employment or establish micro-enterprise. - FINANCE - ensures that acceptable financial
practices as outlined in the FAA Act are adhered
to.
