2Food Safety Training for the Whole Food Chain A
Real Challenge EU authorities address the
farm-to-fork approach by giving priority to
consumer demand and the right for high quality
and safe food. To achieve this, an efficient and
effective food control system along the food
chain should be established and implemented.
Nowadays agronomists, chemists, biologists,
veterinarians, and food technologists can work as
food safety specialists. However food
technologists may not have enough knowledge of
the farm site, in the same manner agronomists may
lack the knowledge of food production sites.
There is a need for a complete food safety
specialist training program that covers the whole
food chain. The food sector and food inspection
authorities need such specialists. F4ST is
AWARDED BY EU! The F4ST project aims to
strengthen the know how on integrated food safety
and upgrade the level of food safety control and
food safety inspections across Europe. This will
also enhance European harmonization with regards
to food safety inspection and control. To reward
its ambitions the EU decided to support the F4ST
project with a subsidy from the Leonardo da Vinci
Program. PROJECT INFORMATION Starting Date
