HIV Prevention in out of Schools
  • Objective
  • Equip children in the projects sites with
    information and skills to protect themselves from
    HIV infection.
  • Results year 2008
  • Project reached 21,690 children in 14 schools and
    14 communes of 7 districts via 365 PEs
  • Approach
  • Child to child /Peer Education in schools and in
    commune
  • Clubs of peer educators
  • Inter wards, Inter school play Grounds
  • Celebrity talk on HIV and AIDS, sex education
  • Children raise their voice to influence policy
    makers

Care and Support for Children Infected and
Affected by HIV/AIDS
  • Objective
  • Provide children infected and affected by HIV
    and AIDS with access to care and support services
    in the community to ensure fulfillment of their
    basic rights
  • Results year 2008
  • Project reached 1800 HIV and AIDS affected
    children and 40 infected children via 127 Care
    and support volunteers

Contribution of Prevention to Care and Support
  • Increase peoples understanding on HIV related
    issues via IEC sessions
  • Improving understanding on HIV related issues for
    School teachers, parents
  • Reduction of stigma and discrimination against
    HIV and AIDS via education therefore increasing
    integration of children I/A into community

    children infected and affected (I/A) by HIV and
    AIDS

    responsibilities with society n caring children

  • Closely co-operation of all of the agencies in

    project cycle

Sustainabilty
