  • Will use a text file on the server side to
    simulate a database.
  • PHP script will be used to read and write to the
    database.
  • Trying to avoid cookies due to access privilege
    problems for now.
  • If time permits we may try to store user
    information on the client side, to be recovered
    later.

Quiz Applet
  • Purpose To test what the user has just learned
    in the tutorial.
  • We will have 4 quizzes (one for every 2-3
    Topics).
  • Each quiz will consist of 5-8 multiple choice
    questions.

  • Game Description
  • The game starts as soon as the applet
    initializes.
  • The game scene consists of the question and
    possible answers, with a depiction of OOPi below
    holding a weapon.
  • Various objects from the OO world fly at OOPi.
  • If the user answers the questions correctly, OOPi
    shoots the object. If not OOPi is destroyed.

  • Time factor The user has a set amount of time to
    answer questions.
  • If time runs out, OOPi is destroyed.
  • Time available reduced throughout quiz,
    increasing difficulty.
  • Results
  • The users score is kept track of during the game
    and reported to the user upon completion (or game
    over)
  • If a beginner or intermediate user does extremely
    well they will be prompted with a suggestion to
    increase their skill level.
