• When the uproar had ended, Paul sent for the
  disciples and, after encouraging them, said
  good-by and set out for Macedonia. He traveled
  through that area, speaking many words of
  encouragement to the people, and finally arrived
  in Greece, where he stayed three months. Because
  the Jews made a plot against him just as he was
  about to sail for Syria, he decided to go back
  through Macedonia.

• He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus
  from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from
  Thessalonica, Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and
  Tychicus and Trophimus from the province of Asia.
  These men went on ahead and waited for us at
  Troas. But we sailed from Philippi after the
  Feast of Unleavened Bread, and five days later
  joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven
  days.

• On the first day of the week we came together to
  break bread. Paul spoke to the people and,
  because he intended to leave the next day, kept
  on talking until midnight. There were many lamps
  in the upstairs room where we were meeting.
  Seated in a window was a young man named
  Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as
  Paul talked on and on.

• When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground
  from the third story and was picked up dead. Paul
  went down, threw himself on the young man and put
  his arms around him. Don't be alarmed, he said.
  He's alive! Then he went upstairs again and
  broke bread and ate. After talking until
  daylight, he left. The people took the young man
  home alive and were greatly comforted.

  me, and there are many who oppose me.

• Acts 20 is a chapter filled with strong
  encouragements.

• I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus
  Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the
  Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may
  know Him better. I pray also that the eyes of
  your heart may be enlightened in order that you
  may know the hope to which He has called you, the
  riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,
  and His incomparably great power for us who
  believe.

• That power is like the working of His mighty
  strength, which He exerted in Christ when He
  raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His
  right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all
  rule and authority, power and dominion, and every
  title that can be given, not only in the present
  age but also in the one to come.

• And God placed all things under His feet and
  appointed Him to be head over everything for the
  church, which is His body, the fullness of Him
  who fills everything in every way.

• Often the strongest encouragement a believer can
  experience is in regaining a clear view of their
  identity in Christ and their future in His
  presence.

• Take the time to encourage one another by
  reminding each other of our true identity and
  future.

• But encourage one another daily, as long as it
  is called Today, so that none of you may be
  hardened by sin's deceitfulness. We have come to
  share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end
  the confidence we had at first.

• He smelled really good.

• So I said good-by to them and went on to
  Macedonia. But thanks be to God, who always leads
  us in triumphal procession in Christ and through
  us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the
  knowledge of Him. For we are to God the aroma of
  Christ among those who are being saved and those
  who are perishing.

• To the one we are the smell of death to the
  other, the fragrance of life. And who is equal to
  such a task? Unlike so many, we do not peddle the
  word of God for profit. On the contrary, in
  Christ we speak before God with sincerity, like
  men sent from God.

• When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy
  lying dead on his couch. He went in, shut the
  door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD.
  Then he got on the bed and lay upon the boy,
  mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As
  he stretched himself out upon him, the boy's body
  grew warm.

• Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in
  the room and then got on the bed and stretched
  out upon him once more. The boy sneezed seven
  times and opened his eyes. Elisha summoned
  Gehazi and said, Call the Shunammite. And he
  did. When she came, he said, Take your son.
  She came in, fell at his feet and bowed to the
  ground. Then she took her son and went out.

• While He was saying this, a ruler came and knelt
  before Him and said, My daughter has just died.
  But come and put Your hand on her, and she will
  live
•   When Jesus entered the ruler's house and saw
  the flute players and the noisy crowd, He said,
  Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.

• But they laughed at Him. After the crowd had
  been put outside, He went in and took the girl by
  the hand, and she got up. News of this spread
  through all that region.

  power of God.
