7- After Filing a FAFSA
- Federal Processor provides a Student Aid Report
(SAR) - Acknowledgment
- Expected Family Contribution (EFC)
- New Jersey Residents
- Receive a Student Eligibility Notice (SEN) from
the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority
(HESAA)
8- What is the Students Responsibility?
- Federal
- If the Student Aid Report (SAR) is returned
without an EFC - the student must respond to the comments on the
SAR - only upon satisfactory completion, a valid EFC
will be issued
9- What is the Students Responsibility?
- NJ Residents
- HESAA may request information before finalizing
some state aid - Respond to the Additional Information Request
(AIR) - Return the AIR directly to the Trenton address
provided
Do Not Ignore This Request! The award depends
upon successful completion of the process.
10- When will student hear from the
- Office of Financial Aid ?
- Student should have received an Initial Offer
- based on initial FAFSA Information
- for planning purposes
- Starting late May, upon completion of students
financial aid file - student will receive an Award Offer
- student will receive instructions that must be
followed - to complete the financial aid process

15Financial Aid Process
- Pre-registration
- Financial aid will remain inactive and will not
credit to the students account, if a student does
not pre-register. - Students must pre-register for Fall in order to
receive a term bill.
