Purpose of Decision Trees

• What is a Decision Tree?
• A support tool that guides decisions utilizing a
  model of questions whose answers drive the
  direction of following questions.
• If yes, then this if no then that.
• Purpose
• To guide the SCNR in the correct application of a
  particular data definition.
• Goal
• Improve data accuracy and reliability.

• Two different types of preoperative risk factors
  selected for initial development and testing
• Pneumonia
• Open Wound
• Tested by selected SCNRs
• Feedback from SCNRs to improve functionality
• Plan develop one decision tree for a selected
  variable per month.
