2Post Offer Physical (POP)
- An evaluation that is conducted following an
offer of employment to determine if the job
candidate is functionally capable of performing
the job or has an undisclosed injury that would
inhibit job performance.

4Prior to Post Offer Physical
- Perform Motor Vehicle/background check
- Check if insurance has a previous claim index
- Perform pre-employment drug screen
- Do not proceed with physical if the drug screen
is sent out for further testing
5Post Offer Physical- When
- An employer may condition a job offer upon a
satisfactory result from a post offer medical
examination or inquiry - A post offer physical is required of all
employees in the same job category after a job
offer -
6POP vs. Return to Work Physical
- RTW physical- is completed when an individual is
returning to previous employment after a
personal injury - Example Motor vehicle accident
- Clearance from PCP but still questioning
capability - Job Description
- Medical records from PCP
7POP- Questionnaire only
- 50
- Extensive questionnaire asks about ALL past
medical history including family, work
personal, in addition to personal habits and
hobbies - Reviewed by PA or MD
- Prospective employee doesnt need to be present
can be performed via fax - Provider will ask for the patient to be seen if
he/she feels necessary based upon questionnaire

12POP-Questionnaire Basic Physical
- 75- 1 hour in clinic
- Usually can be seen same day since does not
require functional and/or ROM testing by a
Physical Therapist - Provider will ask for the patient to undergo ROM
and/or functional testing if he/she feels
necessary based upon physical results (Additional
charges apply)

- 100-200- 1-2 hours in clinic
- (75 25 per manual ROM or functional job
duplication test) - Matched to job description
- Preference to schedule 1-2 days out
15POP Range of Motion (ROM)
- General- all major joints demonstrated and only
measure deficits - Vs.
- Specific- employer with specific claims
- Deficits must have 3 measurements within 15
degrees of one another (ADA/DOWC compliance)
