Students are to ensure they have received this

to making their departure to Singapore.

International Student Office (ISO)
Apply for Accommodation
Booking has to be made minimum 2 weeks prior to
your arrival in Singapore.
Make travel arrangements to Singapore
Pack Belongings
Students are encouraged to arrive in Singapore a
week before class commencements to allow for
medical examination, Student Passs
application and to attend Orientation Activities

3Student Pass
- All international students are required to hold
valid Students Passes officially issued by the
Singapore Immigration - Checkpoint Authority (ICA) before students are
allowed to attend class. - Students are required to go for their medical
check up, obtain a copy of the medical report
prior proceeding to ICA - for their Students Pass Processing.
- You MUST bring the following original documents
to Singapore with you. These will be needed when
you go to the - Immigration Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to
collect your student pass. - ICA In-principle Approval Letter
- SIM Offer Letter
- Original Educational Qualifications
- Original Birth Certificate
- Medical Report ( if you have your medical
examination done in your home country) - Embarkation/Disembarkation Card
- Passport
- Passport size photographs (min 6 copies)
- If these documents are not in English, please
provide a translated or notarized version.

You will need to make bookings at least two
weeks before your arrival in Singapore.
5Accommodation/Housing What to Pack?
- SIM Offer Letter. Original copies of
certificates, documents for - verification and reference as you register as
a student. - Personal items such as toiletries, alarm clock,
electrical accessories - such as 3pin plug etc.
- Cash of S1000 to 2000 for your initial
expenses and also cash to pay - tuition fee if you have not done so.
- Minimum 6 passport size photographs.
- Sports equipment such as rackets, jogging shoes
etc. - Medication if required.
- If you already have a notebook, then bring it
along. - Clothes Jeans, shirts and t-shirts. Those that
are comfortable - to wear. Bring one set of formal wear and one
set of your
6Upon Arrival at Singapore Airport
Taxi service in Singapore is plentiful,
convenient and reasonably priced. If you have
not arranged for airport pickup via your
accommodation service providers, we would advise
you to take a taxi. Taxis are metered and the
fare starts from 2.50. For trips originating at
the Airport, there is a surcharge of S3 to S5.
Between midnight and 6am, there is a surcharge
of 50 of the fare shown on the meter. A list of
possible surcharges can be found posted in the
taxis. Tipping is not expected. Most taxi
drivers speak English and Mandarin. A trip to
town costs approximately from S15 to S20.

Undergo medication examination as arranged by SIM
Processing of Students Pass Application
Attend Orientation Activities/Programme Briefings
7Medical Examination
- All international students MUST undergo a medical
examination - and submit a medical report to the Immigration
and Checkpoints - Authority of Singapore (ICA) for your Student
Pass processing. - SIM has arranged the following date for
international students - to have their medical examination done
- 24 September 2007 1pm to 4.30pm
- Venue SIM HQ, Atrium level 2,
- 461 Clementi Road S(599491)
Note students already holding valid student
passes (e.g. progression from CEL course) need
not go for this medical examination.
This medical examination is meant for newly
enrolled students to SIM course
programmes.
Please register with Ms Grace Chua at
iso_at_sim.edu.sg giving your name, sex, programme,
date of birth, nationality by 17 September 2007
latest if you would like to go for this medical
examination. Please be punctual the medical
checkup will end at 4.30pm sharp. Late comers
will have to do the medical examination on their
own. You will have to bear your own medical
examination cost which is about S40/-. If you
are unable to be present on this date, you may
get in touch with Mr. Benedict Yeo via email
at edupal_at_singnet.com.sg to make arrangements for
you to visit his office and he will assist you in
your medical check-up and student pass
processing.

the International Reception.
