(A) STATE GOVT. SCHEMES
Teachers' Training Centre (T.T.C.) To
impart training to teaching staff of polytechnics
and to acquaint them with latest innovations in
technical fields, State-level Polytechnic
Teachers' Training Centre was established in
Jodhpur Polytechnic Campus in 1991-92. In this
centre, under the guidance of the Directorate of
Technical Education in collaboration with
different TTTIs ISTE, a number of faculty
development programmes are being organised. This
centre organises STC for teaching staff of
Polytechnics also for ITIs. Besides, attending
programmes organised by TTC, the teaching staff
working in Polytechnics are also sent for short
term training programmes conducted by 4 TTTIs in
the country. TTC is capable of running
programmes for industry personnel also.
Need-based courses for industrial personnel are
being conducted at this centre. TTC is also
helping to train person from Govt. Departments.
One such programme was run for Grass-root level
workers of PHED.

Learning Resource Development Centre (L.R.D.C.)
To design develop print and non-print
learning resources for the use of teachers of
Polytechnics and to train the teaching staff of
Polytechnics for the use of audio-visual
equipments, a State-level Learning Resource
Development Centre (L.R.D.C.) had been set up in
Govt. Poly. Campus, Jodhpur in 1991-92. This
centre also serves as repair centre for the
audio-visual equipments and keep them in working
order. The main purpose of this centre is to
cater to the needs of various audio-visual cells
already established in the Polytechnics.

Industry Institute Interaction Cells (IIIC) For
effective interaction between Industry and
Institute and mutual benefits of industry
institute, 8 Industry Institute Interaction Cells
have been established . The main objectives of
Industry Institute Interaction Cells are
creation of a rapport between Industries
Institutions by way of organising training of
staff and students in Industires, counselling of
students, arranging visits of faculty students
to industries,organising exten-sion lectures of
experts from industries, organising campus
interviews, arranging students projects based on
industrial problems, preparation of profile of
industries in their region, to appraise the
industries with the facilities of testing etc.
available in the institute and arrange to
organise the training of staff from industries in
particular fields if there is any such
requirement from them. These cells are
interacting with the industries under their
zone,covering the district where the cell is
situated, as well as with the industries of some
other districts where no such cell is existing.
The activities of these cells are monitored by
an advisory committee headed by a prominent
industrialist of the zone as the president and
the suggestions of the committee for the
curriculum development are incorporated by the
CDC to achieve the objectives.

ACCREDITATION AND AFFILIATION
Under the provisions of the AICTE Act 52n of 1987
all diploma, degree PG Programmes are to be
mandatory accredited by National Board of
Accreditation (NBA)
For eligibility for accreditation is that two
batches of students have passed out of that
programme
For Affiliation all degree P.G. Courses are
affiliated by Universities Diploma programme by
Board of Tech. Edu. Raj.
Curriculum Development Cell (C.D.C.)
The CDC has been working under the Board of
Technical Education . The main aim of CDC is to
prepare and revise the scheme syllabii, exam.
rules regulations for all the disciplines of
the polytechnic education.. The CDC involves
industrialists, higher education institutions and
senior staff members of the polytechnics for the
above work. The activities carried-out by CDC
last year are (a) Number of New / reviewed
courses (a) Para-Medical Courses
6 new courses (b) Women
Polytechnic Courses 6 reviewed courses
(c) HMCT Course 1

(B) CENTRAL GOVT. SCHEME
Community Polytechnics With a view to impart
short term training and to transfer technology
to rural areas 21 ( 14 Co-ed 6 Mahila 1
Private ) Community Polytechnic-wings are working
in the State . Community Polytechnic are serving
their near-by villages by helping the rural
people in installation of smokeless chullahs,
gobar gas plants, pump sets etc. These
Polytechnics are also engaged in imparting
short-term training in various crafts such as
scooter repairs, motor winding, stenography,
house wiring, general mechanic, cutting
tailoring etc. to the trainees from rural areas.

(C) CENTRAL STATE GOVT. COMBINED SCHEME
Main Streaming Persons with Disabilities in
Technical Education The efforts for
Main-streaming Persons with Disabilities in
Technical Education are going on through the
Centrally sponsored scheme pertaining to
integrating persons with disabilities in
Technical Education . This is to be implemented
in 3 identified Polytechnic Colleges of the State
which include 2 Polytechnics of Jodhpur District
namely Govt. Polytechnic Jodhpur, Govt. Women
Polytechnic Jodhpur from the session 2004-05 .
The Scheme consists of two programmes Formal
Programmes To integrate the disabled persons
into the regular 3 years diploma
courses Non-Formal Programmes Conducting the
courses specially designed for handicapped
persons

Qualitative Improvements The effective use of
the trained human resource is possible if the
quality of education is such that the employer is
attracted to the institutions for Campus
Interviews.
To bridge the gap in the training of I.T.
graduates and to enhance their employability of 6
months training programme are urgently required.
This will add to the skills of engineering
graduates they can get employment in the
leading I.T. industries i.e. Wipro, IBM, Oracle,
InfoSys etc.
