2PREPLANNED AIR SUPPORT REQUESTS
- Submitted in time to be included in the published
ATO - More likely to get the right aircraft with the
right ordnance on the right target at the right
time - Can originate at any level of command
- Goes up the chain of command to the ARFOR or LCC
for submission - Does not require all data to be known to submit a
request
3TIMING OF PREPLANNED REQUESTS FOR AIR SUPPORT
- Planning sequence is based on the time the
requirement reaches the JAOC and may vary by type
of air support - CAS requests may require 24 to 48 hours advance
planning - Airlift for intertheater airlift may require 7
days or more

5IMMEDIATE REQUEST FOR AIR SUPPORT
- Submitted too late to be included in the
published ATO - DOES NOT mean ASAP
6IMMEDIATE REQUEST
- May be submitted by ANY echelon
- Goes to the ASOC for CAS and some AI
- Goes to the ARFOR or LCC for airlift, Recce, and
EW and to the JAOC via TBMCS - Provides responsiveness and flexibility for all
services and all echelons that may need air
support

time, target description, coordinates and
standard conventional load identifiers - On Call
- ATO mission in a ground or airborne alert status
requiring time and place to be coordinated - Flexible Ordnance
