What is Freshman S.W. A. T.?

• Freshmen From the date of admission to the
  conclusion of the first semester
• Strategic Thoughtful, collaborative planning
  for change next year
• Weapons Everything we can put in our arsenal
  throughout the process
• And
• Tactics Out-of-the-box examination, creative
  solutions and problem solving

Whats the Problem?

• When Freshmen are admitted to CSUN, they are
  often too uncertain to commit, and CSUN is too
  reluctant to impose deadlines or collect
  deposits, so they wait too long to take the
  ELM/EPT and when they do decide to come, too
  often they dont have test scores, so they cant
  get advisement, so the demand for appointments
  gets too high and they have to wait too long and
  by the time they get advised, its too late for
  Summer Programs, and we need too many new
  developmental classes, too many faculty to
  teach them and too many classrooms to
  accommodate them.
