Title: Got Printer Problems with a LEXMARK Z32
1Got Printer Problems with a LEXMARK Z32 ??
2The Lexmark Z32 is one of the newest models of
printers in our district. If you are having
problems with this printer, the FIRST thing you
should check is the cartridges. Make sure that
you clean and align them from the printer toolbox
directions. If there are still problems, try
these next few steps.
3Find an identical WORKING printer with the same
cartridges. Borrow those cartridges and test
them in the problem printer one at a time. This
will help to isolate the problem. If the new
cartridges dont function in this printer, you
will know that the cartridges are not the problem.
- If the working cartridges do work in this
printer, you will know that the problem with the
printer is actually a problem with cartridges.
CLEAN or REPLACE the nonfunctional cartridges. - There are times when even new cartridges dont
function properly.
Click here for help with removing the cartridges.
4If you find that the cartridges are possibly the
problem, remove the cartridges and clean
them. You should clean the area where the ink
actually sprays from each cartridge.
Use a Q-tip and alcohol for cleaning both the
cartridges and the area where they are placed in
the holders on the printer. Clean the area where
the pen is pointing in the picture on the bottom
left.
5Many times there is debris which has collected at
the base of the cartridge housing. If you slide
a piece of clean paper under the area, you can
usually see any debris. This area should be
gently cleaned with a Q-tip and alcohol to remove
all nasties from the area.
6After cleaning and making sure the cartridges are
dry, snap each carefully back into its proper
carrier.
7- You can perform a test print on this model
without having the printer connected to a
computer. To do this, you should - Plug the printer power cable into an outlet.
- Turn the printer off.
- Press and hold the two buttons simultaneously
(as shown above) until - the green light comes on.
- Press the green button when you see the green
light. - A test print page will print. It should look
like this.. - You will need to press the green button again
to stop the test print.
8The color cartridge works!!
The black cartridge works.
You will need to press the green button again
to stop the test print.
