- The provision of Treatment Services and the
provision of Recreation Services to persons with
illnesses or disabling conditions.

- The primary purposes of Treatment Services, which
are often referred to as Recreational Therapy,
are to - restore, remediate or rehabilitate in order to
improve functioning and independence and - reduce or eliminate the effects of illness or
disability.

- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists
- National Counsel on Therapeutic Recreation
Certification (NCTRC) administers and oversees
the CTRS credential. - To be awarded the Certified Therapeutic
Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certificate, a
candidate must meet the NCTRC eligibility
requirements and pass a knowledge-based exam.

functional skills - organized sports and fitness activities

- supported community re-integration activities.

amputation to wheelchair sports as part of
Physical Rehabilitation.
