6Fieldwork II ExperienceConceptual Notion Thus

- Recruitment of Masters Doctoral OT students in
PA - Suggest this be the 2nd or 3rd FW experience for
the student - FW II Experience Length 8-12 weeks (negotiate
with student) - Currently Emerging Practice Fieldwork Experience
Educational Standards require 6 hours/weekly
supervision by an occupational therapist. - The new standard in January 2007 will more than
likely be 10 hours/weekly supervision by an OT. - Fairly Structured Fieldwork Experience
7Fieldwork II Experience Application Process
- The candidate completes the application (to be
designed). Two reference letters from academic
or clinical instructors are to be included with
the application. - The student writes and submits an essay
describing his or her interests a description of
prior (or anticipated) fieldwork experiences
information about related projects or activities
and the rationale for requesting a PA AgrAbility
fieldwork experience, as well as expectations,
and objectives for the experience. - The potential supervisors will review the
application and essay. A telephone interview will
be scheduled. - A letter of acceptance or denial will be sent to
the student and her or his academic fieldwork
coordinator. If the student is accepted, the
notification will include confirmation of dates,
information about PA AgrAbility work policies,
and instructions for the first day. Upon receipt
of this packet, the student should contact his or
her designated contact person to discuss
objectives and expectations.

- Week 1 Introduction to Key Personnel,
Policies Procedures of PA AgrAbility
(specific daily tasks) - Week 2 With OT to go over conceptual
foundations of - agri-occupation based
components - Week 3/4 With PSU AgrAbility, PA AT Easter
Seals - Week 5 Spend time in field with vet, ag
dealer, OVR - Week 6-9 Be responsible for investigation of
a minimum of 4 cases in relation to OT
components (Note This case could be
hypothetical from a previous time OTES will
design a CSI type module for this
component) Actual case(s) would be optimum! - Week 10 Preparation complete a
presentation of cases from an occupation-based
perspective to AgrAbility Personnel - Additionally, the student will keep a daily
event-reflective journal of the experience and
design a learning portfolio of resources.
