Fieldwork II ExperienceConceptual Notion Thus
Far
  • Recruitment of Masters Doctoral OT students in
    PA
  • Suggest this be the 2nd or 3rd FW experience for
    the student
  • FW II Experience Length 8-12 weeks (negotiate
    with student)
  • Currently Emerging Practice Fieldwork Experience
    Educational Standards require 6 hours/weekly
    supervision by an occupational therapist.
  • The new standard in January 2007 will more than
likely be 10 hours/weekly supervision by an OT.
  • Fairly Structured Fieldwork Experience

7
Fieldwork II Experience Application Process
  • The candidate completes the application (to be
designed). Two reference letters from academic
or clinical instructors are to be included with
    the application.
  • The student writes and submits an essay
describing his or her interests a description of
    prior (or anticipated) fieldwork experiences
information about related projects or activities
and the rationale for requesting a PA AgrAbility
fieldwork experience, as well as expectations,
    and objectives for the experience.
  • The potential supervisors will review the
application and essay. A telephone interview will
    be scheduled.
  • A letter of acceptance or denial will be sent to
the student and her or his academic fieldwork
coordinator. If the student is accepted, the
notification will include confirmation of dates,
information about PA AgrAbility work policies,
and instructions for the first day. Upon receipt
of this packet, the student should contact his or
her designated contact person to discuss
    objectives and expectations.

components (Note This case could be
hypothetical from a previous time OTES will
design a CSI type module for this
component) Actual case(s) would be optimum!
  • Week 10 Preparation complete a
presentation of cases from an occupation-based
