  European Research Ministers
• Two members from each country European
  Commission all representing their Minister
• Focus on coordination of infrastructure
  activities for all scientific fields

Each group chaired by a member of ESFRI. The
other members appointed by Research Ministries.

(10-20 years) Draft report from ESFRI to
ministries and Commission in July 2006 Final

• Identify those infrastructures to be provided or
  upgraded in order to meet the need of European
  Researchers to conduct leading edge research
• Providing a focus for long term budgetary
  planning by funders
• Preventing over-provision of facilities in
  particular areas
• Basis for strategic prioritisation by Member
  States/Associating Countries and European
  Commission useful tool for decision makers
• Identifying and nucleating research European
  Research Communities
