Title: BSc Hons Sports and Exercise Therapy

1
BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Therapy
2
Rationale
  • There is a national drive to improve health and
the number of people participating in sports and
exercise at all levels continues to increase.
This causes an increase in demand on health care
practitioners who may not be best equipped to
meet the needs of sports participants
  • Current physiotherapy pre-registration education
and training is largely focussed on the needs
  • of the NHS, preparing physiotherapists to
  • work across a broad scope of practice.

3
  • The curricula for sports therapy courses enables
more focused study related to a narrower, more
defined scope of practice in sport.
  • The Faculty of Health and the Carnegie Faculty of
Sport and Education form natural partners for the
development and delivery of a sports therapy
    programme.
