Q4066Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Dear
Chris, I am excited to write this letter to
support for your proposal to host the 2012 IUGA
AGES Meeting in Brisbane. I was privileged to
participate in the AGES Meeting a couple of years
ago in Brisbane feel it would be an ideal venue
for the IUGA/AGES meeting. Having been fortunate
to participate in many meetings in many different
countries, it was one of the best meetings Ive
attended. The organization for the scientific
and social events was outstanding and the
scientific quality of the meeting was high. I
have every confidence that the Australians will
do an excellent job with an international meeting
and would provide a unique and new experience in
Australia that many would not have previously
experienced. I found Brisbane to be an exciting
city that offered a lot to do. In addition, there
are beautiful waterways within the downtown area,
a lovely botanical garden and interesting
surrounding neighborhoods for a bike ride. The
people in the city were very warm and welcoming
and there was great food in the
restaurant. Although those of us from the West
think of it as far away the travel there was very
manageable. The excitement of going to a new
continent and experiencing a vibrant culture made
the trip worthwhile. In addition, I realized
that due to its proximity to Asia, there were
many Asian colleagues that I had not previously
met.  Supportively, John O. L. DeLancey,
