  management, education and policy at local,

THE CONCEPT

• Sub-committee of the CCSSA to represent
  interests of CCNs/nurses in SA ICUs
• Purpose greater representation of CCNs in 6
  regions of CCSSA Constitution (2007)
• Additional members to include the 2 elected the
  2 co-opted Nurse members of CCSSA Council, viz.
  the WFCCN CTG reps.
• Legitimate structure
• Objective address CCN matters
• Leadership
• Regional / Provincial / Branch representation

THE PROCESS

• Concept of a nursing sub-structure of the CCSSA
  proposed in 2006
• Accepted initiated at June 2007 CCSSA Council
  meeting
• Inaugural meeting of group held Aug. 2007 at
  CCSSA Congress
• Presentation to Congress Aug. 2007
• Follow-up meeting held Dec. 2007 at CCSSA
  Refresher Course in. P. E.
• Proposal nomination form submitted for postage
  to members in Dec. 2007
• Strategic Planning Workshop organised for Feb.
  2008, Cape Town
• Planning meetings April June 2008, JHB.
