It is one of the largest and highest grade
massive sulphide deposits in the world that was
discovered in 1977, put into production in 1989
and has operated continuously since that time

Mine production peaked at 2.3 Mtpa in 1998 and is
currently 1.8 Mtpa. Annual production of copper
in concentrates is currently around 90,000 tpa
