The Gladstone Region is a unique area of
Queensland a region where opportunity awaits.
Gladstone is developed on hills overlooking the
center of its economic development, which is the
natural deepwater harbour.

With paintings in rock shelters dating back
20,000 years, the oldest living art tradition on
earth is Australian Aboriginal art.

For the November through January period, the
chance that seasonal maximum temperatures will be
higher than the median is between 60 and 65
across most of Queensland, exceptions being parts
of the coast and some of the far west (see map).
So in years with ocean patterns like the current,
in November and January about 6 periods out of
every 10 are expected to be warmer than average
over Queensland, with about four out of ten being
cooler.

The Gladstone Harbour Festival, first held in
1963, has grown to be bigger and better every
year, filling the coastal town with a wide range
of events including kids' shows, yacht races,
carnivals, an annual festival of pots and much
more.

control room of Queensland, but not at the
expense of quality of life. Gladstone industry is

Gladstone makes a huge contribution to Queensland
and the Australian economy. The region currently
generates some 30 of Queenslands and 10 of
Australias total volume of exports per annum
valued at over 4 billion. It is Queenslands
major location of industry with established world
class infrastructure and links to international
markets by sea, land, and air.

Rare and unique birds and animals are one of
Australias biggest tourist attractions. The
extreme variety of the animal life reflects the
varying conditions of the landscape, perfect for
everything from kookaburras (the bird) to
kangaroos.
