Context
  • Defences plan to grow future capability will
    require access to the skills, products and
    infrastructure provided by industry. Keeping you
    informed of our plans is critical.
  • DCP 06-16 rolled the 04-14 plan forward in the
    context of Australias evolving strategic
    circumstances. There were no wholesale changes.
    Expect another public release next year (DCP
    08-18).
  • The LEWG is focussed on enriching this
    information in order to enhance your ability to
    engage in the business of delivering and
    sustaining land force capability.

Land 121Field Vehicles and Trailers
  • Seeks to provide field vehicles, modules and
    trailers to meet the mobility requirements of the
    ADF.
  • Ph 3 Replacement of current ADF fleets.
  • RFT (x3) released Dec 05, tender evaluation
    complete
  • Government is considering its decision
  • Potential opportunities for Australian industry
  • May also look at the need to acquire some more
    specialised protected light vehicles

Land 144 Phase 1 Countermine Capability
  • Seeks to provide high readiness units with an
    enhanced counter-mine capability based on proven
    COTS/MOTS solutions
  • Protected hazard reduction vehicles
  • Improved hand held detectors
  • Personnel explosive lane clearance charge system
  • Tender process completed. Preferred suppliers
    will be notified once Second Pass approval has
    been provided by Government. YOD 07/08, 20-30m.

JP126 Ph 2 Joint Theatre Distribution System
  • Seeks to acquire equipment to improve the ADFs
    capability to deliver logistic support to forces
    on operations
  • (Rough Terrain Container Handlers, Container
    Side Loaders, Forklifts, Cranes, etc)
  • Achieved 2nd Pass Jul 07, 150m
  • Moving into the Acquisition Phase in the DMO.
    Preferred tenderers have been identified through
    the RFT process.
  • Opportunities for Australian industry may follow
    in integration, training and through-life
    maintenance/support.
