Title: Australia v' Argentina
1Australia v. Argentina
2Lineout players from both sides form up in 2
lines perpendicular to boundary line with ball
being thrown between them by team which did not
put ball out of play. Catcher allowed to be
lifted.
3Lineout Players not in lineout must remain 10
metres away from it (until it is finished ) or
are offside. Lineout ends when ball leaves it
(passed away) or if either hindmost foot of an
ensuing ruck or mall moves over the original
centre line of the lineout. Defencive line can
then move up to their hindmost foot. No player
can join or leave lineout once formed, team
throwing in determines the number of players used.
4Lineout is used to restart play when the ball
goes out. The team that did not put the ball out
throws it back in unless it goes out as a result
of a penalty where kicking team gets the throw
in. Teams that want to win, must win a high
percentage of their own throw ins. In general
play, the ball kicked out must bounce inside the
boundary line. It can only be kicked out on the
full if the kicker is inside his own quarter
(saftey valve principle akin to rushed behind).
However, one cant first gain possession outside
of ones quarter then run back inside of it.
Jumper, lifters and others in throwing teams
line move up and back along the line-out to fool
non-throwing team as to where the ball is likely
to be thrown to.

7More relief than anything else, Wallabies had
continually dropped the last pass
8Matt Bourke
9Matt Bourke, (go you good thing) about to be
tackled
10his options are (1) to pass before hitting the
ground and (2) to pass after he hits the ground
or place ball on ground (preferably behind him to
protect it from the opposition). On hitting the
ground he must release it or is penalised (for
not releasing). Opposition players must be
able to contest the ball. They must be on their
feet to do so. As they form over the ball a ruck
is formed. At this point no one can use their
hands to get the ball out, feet only. Cant ruck
a player on the ground. If ball doesnt emerge
from ruck a set scrum is ordered, usually
non-possessing team will get feed under the use
it or lose it policy. Defending teams
objective is to isolate the ball carrier away
from his (hopefully) supporting forwards forcing
him to release, give up the penalty or for them
to be able to gain possession. Ball carrier has
to decide on approaching the tackler whether to
go for it or not (like Australian footy where
player has to no get caught holding the ball.

12were all pretty relieved that weve finally put
the Pumas away.
