Curriculum Corner Math Unit 2 Addition
Subtraction Word problems, fact families and
Number Names Reading Reading Centers
Frog and Toad Using reading comprehension to
complete several tasks that identity the story
elements. Writing Writers Workshop Editing
and proofreading before publishing. Spelling
Students will bring home a new word list each
week. Homework should be completed once a week
in their Spelling journals.

By now you have probably heard the exciting
news about our class pet. We now have a bunny in
our classroom. Her name is Snowy and we are
really enjoying her company. Students take turns
feeding and caring for her. She has become our
favorite friend. Thank you to all the
parents that joined us for our field trip to Da
An Forest Park. Despite the very warm weather we
had a great time looking in the ponds and playing
with our friends on the enormous play structure.
Next week we will conclude our Frogs and
Friends Unit with a celebration on Friday.
Remember to wear green. It is so hard to
believe that we are beginning the month of
October. During this month we will have our
student-led conferences. Your child and I will
be sharing with you all the things we have been
learning since August. Please Mark your calendar
for this important date! Have a good week!
