Second Chance?

• The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to
  anger, and plenteous in mercy.

• Saul disobeyed and was given second chance
• I Samuel 13 8-14
• 8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set
  time that Samuel had appointed but Samuel came
  not to Gilgal and the people were scattered from
  him.
•  9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering
  to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the
  burnt offering.
• 10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had
  made an end of offering the burnt offering,
  behold, Samuel came and Saul went out to meet
  him, that he might salute him.
•  11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And
  Saul said, Because I saw that the people were
  scattered from me, and that thou camest not
  within the days appointed, and that the
  Philistines gathered themselves together at
  Michmash
• 13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done
  foolishly thou hast not kept the commandment of
  the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee for
  now would the LORD have established thy kingdom
  upon Israel for ever.

• Saul disobeyed again and lost his second chance
• 151, 3
• 1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to
  anoint thee to be king over his people, over
  Israel now therefore hearken thou unto the voice
  of the words of the LORD.
•  3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy
  all that they have, and spare them not but slay
  both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and
  sheep, camel and ass.

• 8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites
  alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with
  the edge of the sword.
• 9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the
  best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the
  fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was
  good, and would not utterly destroy them
  but every thing that was vile and refuse, that
  they destroyed utterly.

• I Samuel 15 22-23
• And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight
  in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
  the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better
  than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of
  rams.
• 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and
  stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because
  thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath
  also rejected thee from being king.

• Paul persecuted the Christians
• Acts 81, 3
• 1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at
  that time there was a great persecution against
  the church which was at Jerusalem and they were
  all scattered abroad throughout the regions of
  Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
• 3 As for Saul, he made havocs of the church,
  entering into every house, and haling men and
  women committed them to prison.
• Acts 91
• 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice
  saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou
  me?
•  5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord
• said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest it is
  hard
• for thee to kick against the pricks.
•  6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord,
  what
• wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto
  him,
• Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be
  told thee
• what thou must do.
• Paul was given second chance for salvation
• and became a missionary and established
• churches

• Rich man had no second chance in hell
• Luke 16
• 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in
  torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus
  in his bosom.
•  24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have
  mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip
  the tip of his finger in water, and cool my
  tongue for I am tormented in this flame.
• Rich man wanted his family to take the second
  chance
• 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father,
  that
• thou wouldest send him to my father's house
•  28 For I have five brethren that he may testify
• unto them, lest they also come into this place
  of
• torment.
• 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and
• the prophets let them hear them.

Hebrews 927 And as it is appointed unto men
once to die, but after this the judgment

• Why God give second chance to the unbelievers?
• II Peter 39 - The Lord is not slack concerning
  his promise, as some men count slackness but is
  longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any
  should perish, but that all should come to
  repentance.
• Come to God while you live
• II Cor 62 - (For he saith, I have heard thee in
  a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have
  I succoured thee behold, now is the accepted
  time behold, now is the day of salvation.)
