Basic Information

• She became Lady of the Lake after the goddess,
  Niamh, was killed by Sir Balin
• She was worshipped throughout the Western Roman
  Empire
• Enemies Bane, Iweret, Red lord, Sir accalon, and
  possibly Sir Balin
• Foster-mother of Sir Lancelot
• Raised Lancelot in her lake
• Trained him to be the greatest of all knights

• Nimues powers are uncertain, but she is
  apparently immune to the effects of aging and
  conventional disease.
• Different stories describe The Lady of the Lake
  in very different ways, physically.

Merlins Involvement

• Met Merlin at the Fountain of Barenton when she
  was very young.
• They fell in love
• Merlin taught her his powers
• She became too powerful
• She locked Merlin up
• But he soon found a way to escape

The Excalibur

• The Lady of the Lake gave King Arthur the choice
  between the Excalibur, a magical sword or a
  special scabbard.
• King Arthur chose the Excalibur and used it to
  fight at the Battle of Camlann.
• After King Arthur was defeated, the Excalibur was
  returned to The Lady of the Lake.
