The History Over the Last 10 Years

• In 1996 a local Armenian startup was created. Its
  customers were companies in the US and Canada.
  The team was early adopter of many modern
  technologies, Java, XML, Web Services and other
  innovations.
• In 2000, Brience Inc., a US based mobile software
  solution provider acquired the company. During
  2000-2002, Brience Armenia developed platforms
  for wireless web access for well-known US
  companies like Ingram Micro, Applied Materials,
  CNN, CNet, T-Mobile, Windham hotels, Washington
  Mutual, CISCO and others.
• In 2002, Brience Armenia was acquired by Lycos
  Europe and renamed to Lycos CJSC.
• Lycos Armenia grew together with the Lycos Europe
  network and collaborates with competence centers
  in Gutersloh, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Munich and
  Paris for the development of its core services
  search, communication, communities and operations
  and customer care.
• Lycos Europe was founded in May 1997 as a joint
  venture between Lycos Inc., USA, and Bertelsmann
  AG, Germany. Lycos Europe is listed on the
  Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and on the Paris Stock
  Exchange.
• Sourcio is Lycos Armenia spin-off which is also
  backed by the World Bank funded venture fund and
  USAID
