There shall none be defiled for the dead among
his people Leviticus 211 They shall be holy
unto their God, and not profane the name of their
God for the offerings of the LORD made by fire,
and the bread of their God, they do offer
therefore they shall be holy. Leviticus 216
22THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be holy
- 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man
dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live
unto the Lord and whether we die, we die unto
the Lord whether we live therefore, or die, we
are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ both
died, and rose, and revived, that he might be
Lord both of the dead and living. Romans 147-9
23THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be holy
- 14 As obedient children, not fashioning
yourselves according to the former lusts in your
ignorance 15 But as he which hath called you is
holy, so be ye holy in all manner of
conversation 16 Because it is written, Be ye
holy for I am holy. 1 Peter 114-16
24THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- To teach Gods Word
- 10 And that ye may put difference between holy
and unholy, and between unclean and clean 11
And that ye may teach the children of Israel all
the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them

the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they
should seek the law at his mouth for he is the
messenger of the LORD of hosts. Malachi 27
25THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- To teach Gods Word
- 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in
earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am
with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
Amen. Matthew 2818-20

- I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies
of God, that ye present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. Rom 121 Neither yield
ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness
unto sin but yield yourselves unto God, as those
that are alive from the dead, and your members as
instruments of righteousness unto God. Romans
613
28THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- To offer sacrifices Our bodies
- 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple
of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have
of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are
bought with a price therefore glorify God in
your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1
Corinthians 619-20
29THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES

Araunah, Nay but I will surely buy it of thee at
a price neither will I offer burnt offerings
unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me
nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and
the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 2 Samuel
2424
30THE PRIESTS RESPONSIBILITIES
- To offer sacrifices Our thanksgiving/praise
- 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of
praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of
our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do
good and to communicate forget not for with such
sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 1315-16
