5NSES Standards
4ASI2.1 Scientific investigations involve asking
and answering a question and comparing the answer
with what scientists already know about the world.
This standard applies to the bug scope lesson
because you can formulate a lesson around it .You
could, for example, have the students chat with
the online curator asking them questions that
they would like to know about the bugs that they
are seeing or bugs in general, and compare the
answers to what they thought the answers were to
the questions that they asked.
6Technology
- Looking at the technology involved in bug scope
you can teach the students about the differenced
between a light microscope and a ESEM. Giving
them the understanding that both are very useful
but one give you a more clear picture of what you
are looking at.
