What is a biome

• A biome is all the living things in the
  environment.
• Animals live and eat in a biome.
• Biomes can be found in many different places.
• A desert biome is very hot and dry.
• .Not many plants can survive in the desert
  because the shortage of water.

The most common plant is cacti.There are lots
of short grasses, sagebrush, bushes,and cacti.In
fact,desert are second only tropical rainforests
in the varieties of plants and animals species
that live there.Desert plants have two main
adaptations. Ability to collect and store water.

Animals
Many animals live in the desert. Such as
rattlesnakes, kangaroo rat, and scorpion. The
most common animal of the desert is the
jackrabbit.Animals in the desert have special
adaptations to help them survive extreme
weather. .

A landform is any natural formation of rock
and dirt. Deserts cover about one sixth twenty
percent of the earths landforms.

Climate
The desert climate is hot and dry.At night it
is cold and temperatures can drop below
freezing.The desert gets less than 25 centimeters
of rain a year!
