The High School Difference
  • Intermediate School Promotion to High School
    with multiple failures. Little or no consequence
    for failing grades.
  • High School Students will advance to the next
    grade level with multiple failures but will not
    graduate unless 220 credits are earned and the
    CAHSEE is passed.

High School Graduation Requirements
  • Obtain a minimum of 220 credits in specific
    subject areas. (60 credits per year)
  • Complete Algebra 1 (two semesters)
  • Successfully pass the California High School Exit
    Exam (CAHSEE) (350 points in each area)

Student Attendance
  • Students are expected to have fewer than 10
    absences per year
  • Appointments (doctor, dentist, etc.) are to be
    scheduled outside of school hours or on the
    weekends.
  • Teleparent messages will be sent daily when
    students miss one or more periods during the day.
    Listen carefully to these messages and follow up
    by calling (714) 663-6444.

    you can do to succeed in high school.

    counselor.

Daily Planner Check
  • Students are responsible to TRACK daily
    assignments. Parents need to CHECK their
    students planner DAILY.
  • TeleParent will notify parents regarding homework
    and upcoming projects and tests.
  • Assist students in planning time to study for
    projects and tests close to the end of the week
    or grading period.
  • Verify your students assignments by checking the
    schools website at www.ranchoalamitoshs.org.

  • Help your student get organized.
  • Develop a study routine.
  • Communicate with your student and teachers.
  • Encourage confidence and patience.
  • Insist your student attend school every day
  • Encourage extra-curricular activities
  • Remind your teen to be clear about values and
    beliefs.
  • Remind your teen to walk away from bad
    situations.
