Sea Animals and Others by Chasity Lee

• American alligator
• Alligators are location in the costal plain in
  the SC Aquarium. They are usually in the lakes
  and swamps. Their habitat can be in wetlands such
  as rivers. They are only found from Florida to
  the coast of North Carolina. They are only two
  species of alligator. They have about 80 teeth.

Green Anacondas

• The anaconda lives in the Amazon. Anacondas can
  be found in the tropical rain forests. The green
  anaconda lives up to 30 years.

Horseshoe Crabs

• A crab is in the touch tank. Crabs are usually
  found in sandy bottoms of shallow sea waters and
  bays. They can be found on the Atlantic coast of
  North America and the Gulf of Mexico. When they
  molt, the shell splits along the front and they
  walk out .

Loggerhead Sea Turtle

• Turtles come from the coast. Turtles are found in
  coastal bays and estuaries. Sea turtles have
  lived here for about 15 million years, before
  dinosaurs.

Hermit Crabs

• Hermit crabs are located in the touch tank. The
  hermit crabs and more are commonly found in
  snail shells. They are found in the Atlantic
  waters of the southeast United States.

Purple Sea Urchin

• Purple sea urchins are in the touch tank. The
  purple sea urchin is usually found in tidal
  zones. In the orient, their eggs are considered a
  delicacy.

Common Octopus

• The octopus is in the coast. The common octopus
  is usually found in shallow water under rocks and
  cracks of the sea bed. They can be found in the
  Atlantic ocean. Octopuss eat crabs. The common
  octopus usually live about 1-2 years.

Southern Flounder

• Flounders are in the coast. Flounders are
  commonly found on the sandy places. Female
  flounders have been known to lay more than 9,000
  eggs at one time.
