• The Great Barrier Reef is off the coast of
  Queensland in northeast Australia.

• The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef
  system. The Great Barrier Reef has about 3000
  individual reefs and 900 islands.

• The Great Barrier Reef has more than 1500
  species of fish and seventeen species of sea
  snake. Also it has 400 species of coral.

• There are many other life forms on the coral,
  this is a flamingo coloured soft coral.

• There are many different types of fish on the
  Coral Reef, this is a Clown Fish.

• The barrier reef is under threat from many things
  one being the crown of thorns starfish.

• The Great Barrier Reef is slowly dying away due
  to high water temperatures and over fishing.

• Shipping accidents.

• And man polluting the waters.

• But the biggest threat of all is the human race.

• If we look after nature we can keep things alive
  for our children to enjoy.
