• Cockatiels are small Australian parrots.
• They are related to cockatoos.

• Cockatiels have yellow faces and orange cheeks.
• Lutino cockatiels are white or pied.

Habitat

• Cockatiels live in the wild. They live in trees
  and hollow branches. Some people keep cockatiel s
  as pets.

Diet

• Cockatiel can eat seeds, flowers, leaves and
  fruit in the wild. As pets they are feed seed
  mix, carrot tops and herbs. They make chipping
  and whistling noises.

life cycle and stages of growth

• After laying eggs the parents keep them warm
  until they hatch. The chicks are fed by the
  parents until they have grown their feathers and
  can fly. After that the young birds can feed and
  look after themselves.
• Cockatiels can live for around 15-20 years.
