Once you are elected a State Officer, the work
beginsbut so does the fun and learning!

State Officer Program of Work
State Officers create this document to organize
the year-long goals of the team.Each goal is
broken down into objectives, action items,
deadlines, and a team leader is assigned to
monitor each goal.The State Officer team can
propose new ideas or programs to the Board of
Advisers, such as this years Presidents Council.
New programs will be organized and created in the
Program of Work You are given tools to help you
stay on top of your officer assignments and
deadlines.

Officer Workshops and Chapter Visits
  • Each officer prepares a workshop that is used
    during chapter visits, the Chapter Leadership
    Tour and the Oregon Leadership Institute
  • Workshops are a great way to connect with
    members, and teach them valuable lessons at the
    same time.
  • Be prepared to do a lot of public speaking! But
    dont worry, you will receive a lot of training
    and practice to get you ready to go on stage!

Communication with Members and Advisors
  • As a State Officer, it is important that you
    communicate with advisors and members on a
    regular basis. To stay connected, the team will
    produce a quarterly newsletter called The
    Leaders Link and will also send e-updates and
    make phone calls to advisers on a monthly basis.

5th of the Month Reports
  • Monthly update to officer team, coaches, advisers
    and members
  • Explain what did in the past month and what you
    plan to do the next month
  • Lessons you have learned
  • Update on other activities
  • State President compiles all officer reports for
    the Board of Advisers and Board of Trustees
  • In addition, Officers also submit a weekly
    reflection to the State President

  • Oregon Leadership Institute
  • National Fall Leadership Conference
  • Regional Skills Conference
  • State Business Leadership Conference
