  • Started in 1922 by the White Fathers
  • Administered by the Brothers of Christian
    Instruction to-date
  • Located in Masaka town, 120 kms from Kampala on
    top of Kitovu Hill
  • Total Student Population about 1000

Goals of environmental education at SHACK
  • Help students develop factual knowledge about the
    natural environment
  • Foster more positive perceptions about the value
    of the natural world
  • Develop eco-friendly habits, such as getting
    people to recycle and to produce less waste
  • Engage students in environmental rejuvenation
    projects and action
  • Develop students' psychological and spiritual
    relationship with nature
