EL Merestrateegia direktiiv

• Ühenduse merekeskkonda moodustavate eri
  merepiirkondade ja allpiirkondade erinevad
  tingimused, probleemid ja vajadused nõuavad
  erinevaid ja konkreetseid lahendusi. Seda
  mitmekesisust tuleks arvesse võtta
  merestrateegiate väljatöötamise kõigis järkudes,
  kuid eriti ühenduse mereakvatooriumi hea
  keskkonnaseisundi saavutamiseks mõeldud meetmete
  ettevalmistamisel, kavandamisel ja elluviimisel
  merepiirkondade ja allpiirkondade tasandil.
• Iga liikmesriik peaks oma mereakvatooriumi jaoks
  välja töötama merestrateegia, mis lähtub küll
  liikmesriigi oma akvatooriumist, kuid kajastab
  samas asjaomase merepiirkonna või allpiirkonna
  üldist perspektiivi
