- Main problem
- absence specialty Occupation Therapy in the
list of professions - Organization problems absence of technical
equipment, rooms, etc. - No working standards practical skills,
functional duties, working time , number of
patients on 1 OT. - Absence of united terminology. No equivalents in
Russia.

- English language language barrier. All lessons
and literature is in English. - E-mail (students study computer and OT program)
- Difficult to combine education in OT , work ,
home, family. ( 90 students are working
physicians) - Different educational systms.
- Long lectures course in Sweden. More practice
in Russia. - It was difficult understood what is OT and what
OTs do up to the end of the program.

- Different cultures. Different approaches.
- Difficult to change doctors mind to combine
traditional knowledge in medicine and new
occupational therapy approaches ( to do with
instead of patient, account his goals, aims,
abilities, recourses). - Patients conditions environment instead of
medical diagnosis.

- 2000 year course of Ergotherapy on the base of
Physiotherapy department in State medical
academy. - 2002 year new department Rehabilitology and
Ergotherapy - 2001 -2003 year II educational program in OT
- III program is planned from November 2003.
