FAQS
14
RED LIGHTS AND SIRENS
  • Ranger I.N. Hurry received a call from the park
rangers station that smoke and flames were seen
on the north boundary of the park. He turns the
red lights and siren on, drives the engine out
of the park, proceeds through the red light at
the intersection of the park entrance and SR85
and arrives on scene 3 minutes later.

15
SCHOOL BUS
  • Ranger Stu Pid was driving to the fire scene at
1530 on Tuesday afternoon. He noticed the school
bus had stopped to unload on the right side of
the roadway. He was very familiar with this
route and knew that the children would only walk
toward the right. Since this was a two lane road
he decided to slow down, hit the siren a couple
times, and proceed to his left turn 50 ft from
    the stopped school bus.

16
SPEED LIMIT
  • Ranger Lead Foot received a call to a small brush
fire on the park propertys fence line. He drove
the brush truck to the scene with red lights and
siren. He was followed by Apopka P.D. and cited
for driving 50mph in a 35 mph zone.

17
ROAD TIME
  • No driver will drive more than 10 hours (behind
the wheel) within any duty day.
  • Duty day is determined by each agency.
